Since its inception in 2012, the International Workshop on Mathematical Issues in Information Sciences (MIIS) has evolved, through the dedicated efforts of Prof. Zhi-Quan (Tom) Luo, into a premier international forum in the field of data science.

The workshop brings together leading scientists, researchers, and engineers to exchange innovative ideas, theories, and technologies in information science and big data. Guided by a "mathematics-based, data-driven, application-oriented" philosophy, MIIS advances data science research while promoting its industrial applications.

About MIIS 2026

This year's edition will be jointly hosted by the Shenzhen Loop Area Institute (SLAI), the Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data (SRIBD), and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). The workshop will be held from December 18 to 20, 2026, across the SLAI and CUHK-Shenzhen campuses in Shenzhen, China.

We look forward to fostering vibrant exchanges on the latest research ideas and breakthroughs in applying mathematics to model and solve real-world challenges across data science, information science, advanced computing, big data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
